Head of Karashamb Community Resigns
The head of the Karashamb community has submitted his resignation. This was reported by the Kotayk regional administration's Facebook page.
Zohrik Khlghatyan, the community leader of Karashamb in Kotayk province, submitted a resignation letter to the community council. According to Article 18, Part 1, Clause 14 and Article 26, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Law on Local Self-Governance, and based on the application of Zohrik Khlghatyan, the Karashamb community council decided on September 15, 2020, to prematurely terminate the powers of the head of the Karashamb community.
During an extraordinary session, the council acknowledged the resignation and, in accordance with the law, addressed the acting governor of Kotayk province.
The acting governor will appoint an interim head of the community within the established timeframe, following Articles 26 and 27 of the Law on Local Self-Governance, until the extraordinary elections for the community leader are held.
It is noteworthy that Zohrik Khlghatyan has been leading the Karashamb community since 1996, for approximately 24 years.
