Alcohol Poisoning Cases Reach 46, 19 Resulting in Deaths
Between August 31 and September 10, 2020, Armenia recorded 46 cases of alcohol poisoning (methanol), with 19 resulting in deaths, according to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
Of the cases, 29 were reported in the Armavir region, leading to 10 deaths, 15 cases occurred in Yerevan with 7 fatalities, and 2 cases were in the Kotayk region, both resulting in deaths.
Currently, 3 patients are still receiving treatment, 1 in the Erebuni Medical Center (in critical condition, blind), 1 in the Number 1 University Hospital (in critical condition), and 1 in the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center (in serious condition).
