The 'Women for Peace' Campaign and Its Website Spark Significant Interest in Various Countries
There is noticeable activity among Azerbaijani women in response to the call for peace made by Anna Hakobyan, the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the 'Women for Peace' campaign. This was stated by Hasmik Harutyunyan, the spokesperson for Anna Hakobyan, in response to an inquiry by Armenpress.
What kind of response has Anna Hakobyan's call for peace received? Have Azerbaijani women joined the campaign or registered on the website?
The 'Women for Peace' campaign, initiated by Anna Hakobyan, along with its corresponding website, is generating considerable interest across various countries. In recent days, the website has recorded over half a million visitors from different nations. It is noteworthy that the number of registrants has also been substantial.
Regarding the Azerbaijani women, there is activity from Azerbaijan as well; however, considering the prevailing situation in Azerbaijan concerning freedom of conscience and human rights violations, we are refraining from disclosing any data based on the safety of those women.
On July 25, Anna Hakobyan called on Azerbaijani women to join the 'Women for Peace' campaign as soon as possible. She wrote that on July 13, when active hostilities had just broken out along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border due to an Azerbaijani offensive, she urged Azerbaijani women and mothers to 'call upon their country's leadership to cease military operations and not endanger the lives of the children of the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples.'
Anna Hakobyan announced the undertaking of the 'Women for Peace' campaign on July 24, 2018, in Moscow.
