Criminal Case Initiated on Murder Charges: Deputy Minister of Defense on Soldier's Death Circumstances
There are no severe cases of coronavirus among the armed forces, with most infections being asymptomatic, said Deputy Minister of Defense Tigran Balayan during a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly today.
"I am not authorized to disclose the number of cases, but all reported infections in the armed forces are localized. We do not have any cases outside what we anticipated; they are generally in good condition this morning, and if not all, then most are asymptomatic. There are some cases of pneumonia, but we do not have severe or critical cases," Balayan stated.
He also addressed the incident of a soldier sustaining a fatal gunshot wound that occurred yesterday, at the request of the journalists. "Something has been announced; I can't say anything beyond that. A criminal case has been initiated on murder charges, and any information I have is considered pre-investigative secrecy. The level of disclosure can be determined by the investigative committee. An incident has occurred that has led to a murder charge being filed; I will not comment further, but I can assure you that all necessary measures have been taken, the relevant individuals have been identified, and actions are being carried out with the personnel," the Deputy Minister of Defense noted.
