First Phase of Vaccine Trials Successfully Completed: Noubar Afeyan to President
President Armen Sarkissian continues his remote conversations and discussions with prominent Armenian figures and businessmen, as well as specialists from various fields who are involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, including vaccine development efforts. In this framework, the President had a remote conversation with American-Armenian businessman and philanthropist Noubar Afeyan.
Noubar Afeyan is the co-founder and CEO of the American company Moderna, which is actively working on developing a vaccine against the coronavirus. Preliminary data has already been collected following the first phase of clinical trials.
Noubar Afeyan informed President Sarkissian about this progress, stating that the first phase of vaccine trials has been successfully completed. President Sarkissian extended his wishes for success to Afeyan in his endeavors, expressing hope that the combination of experience and knowledge will lead to positive results.
The President and the American-Armenian businessman also exchanged views on the situation related to the pandemic in Armenia and the possible ways and means to overcome its consequences. The President emphasized the importance of overcoming the situation through joint efforts, noting that it is only through unified action that the nation can emerge from this new challenge.
