Armenian Embassy in Georgia Delivers Food to Citizens at Upper Lars
On May 12, diplomats from the Armenian Embassy in Georgia delivered food and essential supplies to Armenian citizens in Upper Lars (there are 15 Armenian citizens in Upper Lars) who wish to transit through Georgia to reach Armenia.
Embassy representatives spoke with the citizens, explaining the situation created by the pandemic and the restrictions currently in place in Georgia. They urged the citizens to return to their places of residence until the border is reopened.
The diplomats emphasized that, due to the new type of coronavirus, the repatriation of Armenian citizens stuck abroad is being conducted exclusively in coordination with the Interagency Commission and the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs according to a developed timetable and action plan. Any individual initiatives carried out outside this framework, especially those that violate implemented restrictions, may lead to uncontrollable consequences and hinder the repatriation efforts.
