Which Families Will Receive State Social Support? Zaruhi Botoyan

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Zaruhi Botoyan, writes on her Facebook page:

"Yesterday, the government approved a program aimed at assisting families with children under 14 years old who are facing social issues due to difficulties in the job market arising from the spread of the coronavirus. All families with children under 14 who meet any of the following conditions will be beneficiaries of this program:

1. Both parents were laid off between March 13, 2020, and March 25, 2020.
2. One parent was laid off during that period, while the other was unemployed.
3. One parent was laid off during that time, while the other is deceased, declared deceased, or missing.
4. Single mothers or parents living with the child (if the child's parents are divorced) who were laid off from work in the specified period.

The support is provided as a one-time benefit, amounting to 100,000 drams for each minor child.

Families will be excluded from this support if:

1. The average monthly salary of the laid-off parent during the two months preceding their dismissal exceeded 500,000 drams.
2. The laid-off parent found another job between March 13, 2020, and March 25, 2020.

The procedure will be finalized by March 31."
