One Employee of Ministry of Emergency Situations Tests Positive for Coronavirus; 11 More Employees Quarantined
In one of the detachments of Yerevan, we have a virus carrier who has been isolated and is currently undergoing treatment. This was stated today, March 27, during a meeting with reporters by the Director of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Rescue Service, Vrej Gabrielyan.
“From the very beginning, our primary task has been to do everything possible to ensure that the rescue service remains highly capable and can respond effectively to all calls. At this moment, everything is possible in the country, and our structures, which must respond every day, should be on standby around the clock. It is also possible that our employees, by interacting with the public, may themselves become virus carriers and get infected. We have such one case. We also have contact persons with him. There are shifts of 15-20 people, and if one of them is a virus carrier, it turns out that those 15-20 people become active contacts, and for the future, we need to isolate them,” he said.
According to Gabrielyan, all those who have been in contact with the infected employee have been isolated: “Currently, 11 active contacts, with whom he interacted, have been isolated by our forces in one of our corresponding units in the area of Lusakert, and very active work is being carried out with the Ministry of Health. Everything is being done to monitor their condition and to avoid further complications.”
