COVID-19 Death Toll in Italy Reaches 969 in One Day
Italy has set a new record for the number of deaths caused by the coronavirus in a single day, with 969 fatalities reported. This information was cited by CNN.
The Commissioner for Health Emergency, Domenico Arcuri, reported that today the country has recorded 10,950 new cases of coronavirus infection, while 589 individuals have recovered.
To date, there have been 86,498 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Italy, with 9,134 resulting in death.
On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus as a pandemic. According to the latest WHO data, there are now over 559,143 infected individuals worldwide, and more than 25,278 people have died.
