If Absence from Work Is Due to Employer's Instruction, Salary Should Be Maintained – Ananyan
During a press conference initiated by the state of emergency management, journalists posed a question to the Head of the State Revenue Committee, Davit Ananyan: "If an organization does not call its employees to work due to the state of emergency, does it have the right not to pay them?"
The reporters specifically inquired about the payment of hourly wage workers. Ananyan responded, "This is a matter governed by labor legislation. We must follow the instructions of the emergency state management, which holds significant authority. In this case, if the absence from work is due to the employer's instruction, then the salary should be maintained. If there are specific issues, I believe that falls under the jurisdiction of the Labor and Health Inspection authority."
