LIVE: Government Meeting Begins
The Armenian government, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, is holding its second meeting of the year today, January 16. The agenda includes 23 items, of which 19 are non-reporting.
The discussed matters include the following:
- Appointment of Gagik Makaryan as a member of the Public Council;
- Draft law on amendments to the law on the arrangement of time calculation in the territory of the Republic of Armenia;
- Proposal regarding the draft law on the pilot program for providing reimbursement of transportation costs to public officials and civil servants, including those involved in preliminary investigations and operations;
- Approval of the investment grant agreement for the “Road Safety Improvement Program” signed between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank on November 27 and December 4, 2019;
- Agreement to lease agricultural land plots without auction in the administrative territory of Bagratashen community in Ayrov, Tavush province;
- Exemption from mandatory military service for several citizens with significant achievements in sports from the winter 2019 conscription;
- Exemption from mandatory military service for Grigor Zakyan, recognized for significant contributions in the cultural field, from the winter 2019 conscription;
- Ratification of the Marrakech Treaty to facilitate access to published works for persons with visual impairments or other reading difficulties;
- And other issues.
