Yerevan-Tehran Flight Operates on Time, Airline Resumes Services
The Yerevan-Tehran flight operated as scheduled on January 14th. Armenia Airways announced that it will continue its flights on this route. An airline representative informed Armenpress that the flight departed Yerevan at 12:00 PM and landed in Tehran at 4:10 PM as planned.
In response to the question of whether they foresee any further dangers, the representative stated that the airline has decided to continue the flights. The next flight is scheduled for January 15th. "Considering the recent statement by the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia regarding the use of airspace of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our airline has applied to the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and received guarantees concerning the safe operation of the flight routes in its airspace," they noted.
According to the official schedule on the Zvartnots International Airport website, the next Yerevan-Tehran flight is set for January 15th at 11:00 AM. The plane arriving from Tehran landed at Zvartnots International Airport at 4:06 PM on January 14th as scheduled. It is expected that the flight coming from Tehran to Yerevan will land at 3:00 PM on January 15th.
On January 15th, considering the situation, the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia advised airlines registered in Armenia to consider temporarily bypassing the airspace of Iran and Iraq. As a result, Armenia Airways had previously canceled flights scheduled for January 12th.
On January 8th, a Boeing 737 passenger plane carrying 176 people from Ukraine International Airlines crashed near Tehran's airport. Later, Iran's armed forces stated that the passenger aircraft that crashed near Tehran was mistakenly shot down due to human error. Several major airlines had suspended flights to Iran and Iraq, including Germany's Lufthansa, Dubai's Emirates, and the budget airline Flydubai.
