Mass Closure of Prisons May Begin in Ukraine
The Minister of Justice of Ukraine, Denis Maliuska, has announced that due to a lack of state funding, a mass closure of correctional institutions may begin in the near future. This was reported by TASS.
The minister stated that with the current financial situation and a limited budget, it is impossible to ensure the normal functioning of the institutions. According to the head of the agency, the only solution to this problem is the closure of correctional facilities and staff reductions.
