Citizen Who Killed Fellow Villager Arrested

As a result of explanatory work by the Ararat regional police and the Masis division, on October 12 at 17:40, a suspect in the commission of a particularly serious crime that occurred in the village of Geghanist, Ararat region, voluntarily appeared at the Masis police station, presenting the weapon used in the crime.

The 34-year-old resident of Geghanist was handed over to the investigative body handling the case and was arrested. This was reported by the police.

Recall that on October 11, at 23:17, a report was received at the Masis police station that a man had been transported to the hospital from the village of Geghanist with multiple gunshot wounds. Thanks to joint operational-search measures by the Ararat regional police, Yerevan city police, and Masis division, it was established that around 22:30, in the Central Street of Geghanist, the fellow villager had fired at the victim with a hunting smoothbore firearm and fled the scene.

The individual transported to the hospital died without regaining consciousness. An investigation is underway.
