1 Dead and 1 Injured in Accident on Martuni-Vardenis Highway

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that last evening, while returning from a different call, the firefighting unit of the regional rescue department noticed an accident occurred near the 13th km of the Martuni-Vardenis highway.

It was determined that a collision had taken place between a "KamAZ" truck (the driver's identity has not yet been established) and a "Jeep Grand Cherokee" (driver: Kamo M., born in 1962).

The passenger of the "Jeep Grand Cherokee", Karine M. (born in 1964), died at the scene.

Before the rescuers could arrive at the scene, the driver of the "Jeep Grand Cherokee" was hospitalized at Martuni Medical Center, where doctors assessed the patient's condition as severe.

The rescuers disconnected the vehicles, closed the gas valve of the "Jeep Grand Cherokee", and moved Karine M.'s body to the ambulance.
