US Embassy in Armenia: The US Has Not Yet Clarified the Amount of Aid to be Provided to Artsakh
The US has not yet clarified the amount of aid to be provided to Artsakh. This was reported to Tert.am by the US embassy in Armenia, responding to news that the aid has been reduced.
“Since 2001, the United States has invested over $17 million through HALO Trust for demining operations in Nagorno-Karabakh. Due to the nature of the budgetary process, the amount of aid allocated for this year has not yet been determined. The US, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, remains committed to its dedication to resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” the embassy noted.
Twenty-two members of the US Senate, representing 16 states, have joined 89 members of the House of Representatives in advocating for the continued funding of demining programs in the Republic of Artsakh and signed the corresponding letter, according to the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
