Video: Felix Tsolakyan Visits Firefighters Affected by Fire
The Minister of Emergency Situations, Felix Tsolakyan, has visited the Lori province to get acquainted with the situation surrounding the freight train incident at the Tumanyan station. At the scene, the minister was welcomed by Sergey Valko, the CEO of South Caucasus Railway LLC, who thanked Felix Tsolakyan for the selfless work of the firefighters, which helped avoid a potential explosion, and assured that the consequences of the incident would be eliminated in the shortest possible time.
The minister instructed his staff to continue to provide all possible assistance for the recovery efforts following the incident. It is worth mentioning that a fire-fighting vehicle that was rushing to assist with extinguishing the fire rolled down a slope on the 10th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Alaverdi highway, resulting in injuries to two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The minister visited the medical facility to meet with the patients. Accompanied by the Governor of Lori, Andrey Ghukasyan, Felix Tsolakyan met with the driver of the combat crew, Aharon Sahakyan, who detailed the events. The minister remarked that Aharon Sahakyan was saved by divine providence, and thus everything in his life will be fine from now on.
At that moment, the injured firefighter, Simon Aivazyan, was undergoing surgery. The minister met with Simon's relatives and encouraged them to remain optimistic and to support the firefighter with steadfastness.
