US Presidential Candidate Promises to Recognize Armenian Genocide
Democratic candidate for the United States presidential election Bernie Sanders has announced his readiness to recognize the Armenian Genocide. Sanders made this statement during a press conference held on July 26 in Los Angeles, pledging that if elected, he would use the term 'genocide' in his presidential address on April 24, contrary to previous presidents who did not uphold their promises.
When asked by MassisPost whether he would go against the Turkish government and officially use the term 'genocide', the U.S. Senator stated, 'Yes, I believe this debate is over.'
Bernie Sanders is one of the co-sponsors of the Armenian Genocide resolution initiated by current Senators Robert Menendez and Ted Cruz.
