Mayors Hinder Investors: Lori Governor Expresses Discontent
Lori Governor Andrey Ghukasyan has expressed his dissatisfaction with a significant number of community leaders. During a conversation with reporters at the National Assembly today, he stated that while the mayors do not violate the law, they create problems for investors. He noted that when laws are broken, criminal cases are initiated against them.
The governor mentioned that currently, 2-3 mayors are involved in such cases, including leaders from both urban and rural areas. When asked if they were all from the Republican Party, he replied, 'Of course not.'
According to the governor, the general issue is that when an investor comes to take land, they are told that there is no land available. The reason, he explained, is that farmers somehow pay the mayor, using the land as pasture, and the mayor does not want to lose this income.
