Eduard Agajanyan Opposes Abgaryan's Replacement of Sanasaryan
The newspaper Hraparak reports: "Yesterday we informed that Albert Abgaryan, one of the three deputy heads, has replaced Davit Sanasaryan as the head of the State Oversight Service. According to the requirements of administrative law, he is replacing him as the longest-serving deputy, having worked since May 2018.
This rule applies if the head of the institution does not have a first deputy. However, Eduard Agajanyan, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, opposed Abgaryan replacing Sanasaryan and attempted to appoint another deputy, Argishti Kyaramyan, for the acting head of the SOS, whom he appointed to that position on April 10. Moreover, Prime Minister Pashinyan has not been inclined to make this appointment, as Kyaramyan's income declaration did not support it.
And although Abgaryan officially already replaces Sanasaryan, according to our information, calls have been made on behalf of Agajanyan suggesting he write a voluntary resignation letter and refuse the position of replacement. We sought a comment from Abgaryan himself, who was not surprised by our question as to why they do not want to see him in Sanasaryan's place but said, "I am performing the duties of the acting head in accordance with the law, and my immediate supervisor is the Prime Minister. I have not received any other instructions from the Prime Minister."
Is he aware that Agajanyan is against him? "No, I am not aware of that." Incidentally, reports that the Prime Minister is dissatisfied with Agajanyan's work, despite government denials, are credible. According to our information, Agajanyan is going on vacation in the coming days."
