Criminal Case Against Kocharian, Ohanyan, Khachaturov, and Gevorgyan Sent to Prosecutor

The investigation has been completed regarding the separated part of the criminal case examined by the Special Investigative Service of the Republic of Armenia concerning the events that occurred in Yerevan from March 1 to 2, 2008.

The SIS informed NEWS.am that the criminal case against former President Robert Kocharian, former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Seyran Ohanyan, former Deputy Minister of Defense Yuri Khachaturov, and former Chief of Staff of the President Armen Gevorgyan has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with an indictment for submission to the court.

As previously reported, Robert Kocharian is charged under Article 300.1, Part 1, and Article 311, Part 4, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code for overthrowing the constitutional order and receiving particularly large bribes.

Seyran Ohanyan is charged under Article 300.1, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code for overthrowing the constitutional order.

Yuri Khachaturov is also charged under Article 300.1, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code for overthrowing the constitutional order.

Armen Gevorgyan is charged under Article 38-300.1, Part 1, Article 311, Part 4, Clause 2, and Article 190, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code for aiding in the overthrowing of the constitutional order, receiving particularly large bribes, and legalizing property obtained through criminal means.
