Mikhran Poghosyan Arrested According to the Anti-Corruption Committee
Former MP and former head of the Special Investigation Service, Mikhran Poghosyan, who was wanted, has been found by Russian law enforcement authorities. This was stated to Tert.am by the spokesperson for the Anti-Corruption Committee, Marina Ohanyan.
“Mikhran Poghosyan has been located by the Russian police, he has been arrested, and the extradition process is underway,” said the spokesperson.
It is important to recall that within the framework of a criminal case being investigated by the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia, Mikhran Poghosyan, the former chief executor of judicial acts in Armenia, has been charged under Article 179, Part 3, Clause 1, and Article 308, Part 2 of the RA Penal Code for committing publically dangerous acts. He allegedly misappropriated particularly large amounts of property through wastefulness while using his official position and abused his official powers, resulting in severe consequences. The court had made a decision to remand him in custody, and a wanted notice was issued.
