Iran's President Calls on the People
We must first look critically at ourselves. This was announced by Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian.
"We have brought the country to this point together—you, I, and the parliament. It is a mistake to think that only the government can solve all the accumulated problems. The state simply does not have such resources, and our revenues are not unlimited. Any sudden intervention in the economy can only exacerbate inflation and harm the poorest segments of the population. We acknowledge our shortcomings and are ready to listen to the people's legitimate demands. Protests in Iran do not require special permission under the constitution, and I have instructed the authorities to begin a dialogue with the demonstrators.
However, we see that external enemies, such as the United States, are exploiting our internal difficulties to suspend the country's development through sanctions and pressure. Those who have committed mass atrocities in Gaza and Lebanon are now shamelessly presenting themselves as defenders of the rights of the Iranian people. We are ready for reforms, but these issues cannot be solved overnight. Our response to any external aggression or attempts at destabilization will be firm, and it will make the enemy regret its actions. I call on the people to unite; only together can we overcome this crisis," said the President of Iran.
