Andreasian Discusses Preparatory Work for the 'Academic City'
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasian, announced at a press conference that one of the ministry's most significant tasks is the 'Academic City' project. According to her, the year 2025 has been pivotal in this regard, as the National Assembly adopted a new law on higher education and science, which came into force on October 20 of last year, legally establishing the regulations for the 'Academic City.'
She also noted that the past year has been crucial for bringing the preparatory work surrounding the 'Academic City' to fruition. 'The package set in accordance with our legislation for the main layout has been prepared and submitted for approval. I believe it will soon be approved through the appropriate procedures. We have conducted a significant amount of work on-site in terms of clearing the area. I should mention that excavations are ongoing in the area designated for the Academic City, and I must say that the initial results are quite interesting, inspiring the impression that the Academic City could also have a remarkable presence of cultural heritage,' the minister stated.
Regarding the ongoing work in the 'Academic City,' Zhanna Andreasian highlighted that significant developments have been recorded within the project's framework, and the work continues. 'We have experienced substantial progress in the work that is advancing the program in a meaningful way. Various projects are now in process; we will soon address the investment component of the project. There are numerous tasks ahead, as we have carried out extensive legislative work,' she noted.
