How Much Money Does Yerevan Municipality Plan for the Construction of Ajapnyak Station?
Yerevan Municipality informs: "In response to the false information spread in the media, we clarify that for the construction of the Yerevan Metro's Ajapnyak station, the Yerevan municipality has been allocated 9,640,000.0 thousand drams from the funds approved by the state budget for 2025. Of this amount, 765,100.0 thousand drams have been paid to MetroGiproTrans for the package of project design documents for the third phase.
Subsequently, reductions were made to the metro construction program, taking into account that the comprehensive expertise of the project was obtained on June 9, 2025. Since the work for the next phase of project implementation is contingent upon the final approval of the project and the subsequent procedures for the procurement processes of construction works, the complete utilization of the allocated financial resources this year has not been realistic.
In order to use budgetary resources effectively, they have been redistributed and directed to carry out other initiatives. According to the law on the state budget for 2026, 2,000,000.0 thousand drams have been allocated for the construction of the metro for starting its construction and preparatory works. Subsequently, these funds will be gradually increased."
