Azerbaijani Forces Detain Artsakh National Security Director Ararat Melkumyan
Azerbaijani forces have detained Ararat Melkumyan, the director of the Artsakh National Security Service, near the Hakari Bridge. This was reported by a correspondent from MediaHub working in Kornidzor.
It is noteworthy that Melkumyan was appointed as the first deputy director of the Artsakh Republic’s National Security Service by a decree of the President of the Artsakh Republic on February 22, 2021. He was later appointed as the Secretary of the Security Council of the Artsakh Republic by a decree on January 7, 2023. Furthermore, on January 16, 2023, he was appointed as the director of the National Security Service of the Artsakh Republic. Ararat Melkumyan holds the military rank of Major General.
