Active Response of Western Media to the Change of Defense Minister in Ukraine
Western media is actively discussing the change of the defense minister in Ukraine. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Hill, officials from the ministry have been overwhelmed with allegations of improper execution of military contracts amid corruption scandals.
Financial Times states that the new Defense Minister Umierov will be able to "regulate the situation in the agency."
Wall Street Journal mentions that Ukraine's defense ministers, especially during wartime, do not come close to the power held by, for example, the head of the Pentagon. Replacing Reznikov is unlikely to lead to changes on the battlefield.
It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed the country's Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov.
