Over 100 Schools Closed in Britain Due to Building Safety Concerns Ahead of September 1
Today, on September 1, major news outlets in Great Britain reported that over 100 schools will be closed for safety reasons. This is confirmed by RD.RU. Education officials have called for the urgent publication of a complete list of schools facing emergency situations.
From the 1950s to the mid-1990s, approximately 156 schools and other establishments were constructed with reinforced concrete in Britain, many of which are currently in a state of emergency, according to government sources.
Media reports today have accused officials of incompetence and negligence, as the order to close more than 100 schools was issued just a few days before September 1.
In response to the criticism, Britain’s Education Minister, Gillian Keegan, stated that the safety of children and staff is of utmost importance.
