Hearings on Artsakh to Be Held in US Congress Human Rights Committee
The Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the US Congress will discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh resulting from the blockade of the Lachin corridor on September 6. This was stated in a press release by the commission.
During the hearings, former chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Luis Moreno Ocampo, will present his expert opinion. Ocampo had provided a report on August 7, emphasizing that "there are reasonable grounds to believe that genocide is being committed against Armenians living in Nagorno-Karabakh in 2023."
Additionally, David Phillips, director of the Peacebuilding and Human Rights Program at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University, will testify about the facts related to the intentions of the Azerbaijani government.
The hearings will take place on September 6 and will be broadcast on the commission's website.
