US State Department Deeply Concerned About Azerbaijan's Checkpoint Installation in Lachin Corridor

The United States is deeply concerned that Azerbaijan's installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin Corridor undermines efforts to build trust in the peace process.

This was stated in a declaration by State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel.

"We reiterate that there must be free and open movement in the Lachin Corridor and urge the parties to resume peace negotiations and refrain from provocations and hostile actions along the border," the spokesperson's statement read.

It should be reminded that on April 23, Azerbaijanis closed the Hakari Bridge connecting Armenia to Artsakh, which is located in the Lachin Corridor, under the control of Russian peacekeepers.
