Mirzoyan and Dendias Discuss Regional Security Issues
On November 18, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan had a phone conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias. Minister Mirzoyan provided a detailed account of the situation created as a result of the military operations launched by Azerbaijani armed forces against the sovereign territory of Armenia.
Mirzoyan emphasized that the latest Azerbaijani aggression was preceded by months of actions and threats to Armenia's territorial integrity by the highest authorities of Azerbaijan, including illegal statements about 'opening a corridor' by force, as well as anti-Armenian and militaristic rhetoric.
The head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry also highlighted the important role of a proper and targeted response to Azerbaijan's aforementioned behavior and actions in deterring further provocations from the Azerbaijani side and in de-escalating the situation.
The interlocutors also discussed several mutually interesting regional security issues and exchanged thoughts on the peaceful resolution process of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
