UN Ready to Deploy Independent Inter-Agency Humanitarian Mission in Artsakh
The spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Stefan Dujarric, addressed reporters regarding the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was reported by "Voice of America."
In his remarks, the spokesman stated that the UN is prepared to deploy an independent inter-agency humanitarian mission in Artsakh and other regions affected by the conflict at the earliest opportunity. He noted that they have informed all parties involved about this matter.
The mission hopes to gain a clearer picture of the humanitarian situation on the ground and thoroughly examine the conditions for the safe, voluntary, dignified, and sustainable return of the entire displaced population.
“We are eagerly awaiting an official response to our latest request. We urge all relevant parties to fully cooperate with UN bodies to ensure their unhindered and rapid access for carrying out such a mission, which will be based solely on humanitarian principles of humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence,” Dujarric said.
