Trump Threatens India Over Russian Oil Purchases
US President Donald Trump has threatened India with new tariffs due to its purchases of Russian oil. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a press briefing aboard the American president's airplane.
"Prime Minister Modi is a very good man. He's a nice guy. He knew I was not happy. But they (India and Russia) are trading, and we can very quickly raise tariffs on their products," Trump stated.
It is worth noting that Indian and American economists and diplomats are currently working on a new, ambitious trade agreement between the two countries.
