US Attorney General Calls for Compliance: Strict Penalties to Be Imposed

US Attorney General and Secretary of Justice Pam Bondi has announced that she has sent letters to 32 American mayors and seven governors urging them to abandon "sanctuary city" policies that encourage the flow of illegal immigrants and to comply with federal government demands.

"We had a sanctuary policy in Washington. I have sent 32 letters to mayors and the country’s seven governors asking them to follow the requirements, or else they will be next if they do not comply," she said in an interview with Fox News.

The US Attorney General has threatened that if city and state governments refuse to cooperate with the US government on this issue, they could lose federal funding. According to her, additional law enforcement agencies could also be deployed in those areas.
