Eminem Prohibits One of the U.S. Presidential Candidates from Using His Works in the Campaign
American rapper Eminem has prohibited U.S. Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy from using his works during the election campaign. This is reported by Politico.
The American BMI company provided a letter stating that Marshall B. Mathers III, known as Eminem, is against the use of his musical creations in Vivek Ramaswamy's election campaign.
“Any reproduction of Eminem's songs in the 'Vivek 2024' campaign will be considered a breach of licensing agreement,” the letter from BMI states.
This is not the first time popular artists have prohibited the use of their music in the race for the U.S. presidency. In 2020, the rock band The Rolling Stones issued a statement demanding that U.S. President Donald Trump cease using their songs at campaign rallies, reserving the right to sue otherwise.
