Newborn Found in Plastic Bag in Gegharkunik
On July 22, a mysterious incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. According to Shamshyan.com, around 11:50 AM, operational information was received at the Martuni division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia regarding a newborn found in the "Holy Tomb" neighborhood of the village of Nerkin Getashen, near a chapel.
Police discovered a baby boy inside a yellow polyethylene bag near the chapel. The officers immediately alerted the Martuni medical center. Currently, doctors are expected to transport the baby to the Yerevan "Holy Mother of God" medical center by ambulance.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Martuni investigative department regarding the incident. The police and the investigative department are working to identify the baby's mother.
