Anatoly Antonov Demands Explanations Regarding American Senator's Call to Kill Putin

The Russian Ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, has demanded an explanation and strongly condemned the statements made by an American senator calling for the assassination of President Vladimir Putin.

“I consider the statement of this American politician to be unacceptable and horrific. The level of Russophobia and hatred towards Russia in the United States is exceedingly high. It is hard to believe that a senator from a country that proclaims its moral values as a ‘guiding star’ for all humanity would allow himself to call for terrorism as a means to achieve Washington's objectives in international affairs,” said the diplomat, adding that he is concerned about the fate of the United States, which is led by such irresponsible and unprofessional politicians. “We demand an official explanation and a strong condemnation of this American’s criminal statements,” he stated.

Earlier, Senator Lindsey Graham, speaking during Fox News' prime time segment, had said that the only way to end the escalating crisis in Ukraine was through Putin's assassination by his political allies.
