VIDEO: The Head of the State Revenue Committee Meets with Car Importers

Car importers organized a protest today, April 23, in front of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) building, demanding a meeting with the SRC chairman. They expressed dissatisfaction with the customs prices for imports, waiting for days in line at the customs office, and a provision in the Tax Code that imposes a 20% tax on the sale of every second car as a donation.

The protesters demanded a meeting with Davit Ananyan, threatening to close Movses Khorenatsi Street otherwise.

Shortly thereafter, Tigran Hovhannisyan, president of the Association of Car Importers, asked the protesters to form a group and meet with the head of the SRC.

As of now, the meeting between the SRC chairman and a group of six car importers has concluded.
